What is this course about?
- To provide Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW) employers with an understanding of their role and responsibilities
- To equip participants with basic knowledge and skills to develop and sustain a happy and productive working relationship with their FDWs
- To provide a basic understanding of legal issues and guidelines related to employment of FDWs
Foreign Domestic Worker Employers' Orientation Programme is an initiative of Ministry of Manpower.
It is offered as an online course, and a lecture-based course. Participants can choose to attend either one, to obtain the certificate.
Suitable for
All NEW Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW) Employers wef 1 April 2004. The info given by the participants in the registration form must be consistent with that given in the Work Permit Application form that they submit to MOM.
Online E-learning course
Participants must have:

basic knowledge to use computer

access to a legal copy of the Internet Explorer version 7.0 and above

a computer with screen resolution 1024 X 768 pixels and speakers

internet connection of 512/kbps and Pop-Up Blocker must be disabled

a computer printer if they wish to print the e-certificate

a computer that is loaded with latest Flash Plugin and Java Plugin (For E-Payment)
Lecture-Based Course
- Please bring with you to the class your Identification Documents (NRIC or Passport) for verification purposes.
- For FREQUENT CHANGE EMPLOYERS, please bring along the letter from Ministry of Manpower for endorsement by the Course Trainer.
- For those who are late by 15 minutes, they will not be allowed to attend the Course.
- Only registered participants are allowed into the classroom.

Certification
For Online E-Learning Course
Participants must have a computer printer if they wish to print the e-certificate.
For Lecture-based Course
A Certificate of Attendance will be issued to every participant who attends the full duration of the course.
Singapore Polytechnic will transmit your particulars to the Ministry of Manpower on the next working day after you have successfully completed the course.
Application Procedure
A - Online Registration: [1] Fill up the electronic form [2] Once completed, click on the Submit button [3] You would receive an online acknowledgement page that you have submitted the registration successfully [4] Singapore Polytechnic would then register and await your payment of the fees before enrolling you for the course
B - Visit Professional & Adult Continuing Education (PACE) Academy counter at 500 Dover Road, Blk T1A, Level 1, Room T1A12.
Please note: (1) The information given in the online registration must be consistent with that given in the Work Permit Application Form that is submitted to Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
(2) The online registration will not be processed if information given is incomplete and/or inaccurate.
Classroom FDW-EOP
Confirmed enrolment is based on a first-come-first-served basis upon full payment of course fee. However, registration does not guarantee enrolment to the course.
Participants will receive a letter of confirmation via email if the course is confirmed and the registration has been accepted.
Online FDW-EOP
(1) Upon receipt of payment for the course, participants will receive an email notification on the next working day. Participants may then proceed to login to the course using his/her SINGPASS.
(2) Singapore Polytechnic operates from Monday to Friday. If participant register and made payment on a Friday, he/she will receive the notification email on the following Monday by 7pm.
(3) Participants are required to complete the course within 3 months from the date of notification. Availability of the account will be terminated after 2 weeks upon course completion. Participants who wish to extend the validity period after 3 months would be required to re-register and make payment.
Singapore Polytechnic, its governors, officers, agents and employees shall not be liable for any loss, damages and/or injury, including loss of life, which participants of our Courses may suffer arising out of or in connection with our Courses, whether the loss, damage and/or injury was suffered on any of Singapore Polytechnic's premises or at any other venue(s) in connection with our Courses.
Payment
A - Cheque Payment : Please raise a cheque made in favour of Singapore Polytechnic, write the Course Title and your name on the reverse of the cheque and mail it to:

NETS Payment: Mondays to Fridays - 8.00 am to 9.30 pm Cash Payment: Mondays to Fridays - 8.00 am to 12.30 pm and 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm
Withdrawal and Deferment
Withdrawal and deferment notice must be made in writing to the Professional & Adult Continuing Education (PACE) Academy via email to cec@sp.edu.sg For withdrawal cases, the portion of course fee to be refunded is based on the date of notice as follows:
· 2 weeks before the commencement of the course - Full refund · Less than 2 weeks before commencement of the course - 70% refund · On or after date of commencement - No refund
· For E-Learning course, there will be no refund once the account has been created.
The Singapore Polytechnic reserves the right to cancel or postpone any of the courses. Applicants will be duly notified and where applicable, the full fees will be refunded.
The Singapore Polytechnic also reserves the right to amend the fees charged or the period and duration of the courses.
