Overview

Why Financial Informatics@SP Business School?

The global landscape has evolved into one that increasingly seeks professionals who are versatile and equipped with financial and infocomm technology skills. Multi-disciplinary education has never been more important, especially in the face of increasing real-world problems whose solutions draw on multiple disciplines.

The Diploma in Financial Informatics (DFI) offered by Singapore Polytechnic is a specially designed course, offering the dual disciplines of finance and infocomm technology (IT) that meets the increasing needs of today’s marketplace. Managed by SP Business School and supplemented by SP School of Digital Media and Infocomm Technology (DMIT), you have the educational advantages of gaining broad-based knowledge in fundamental business subjects while undertaking the dual-discipline program.

You are also provided with flexibility in choosing an option of your choice in year three, which will equip you with the specialized knowledge and skills that further sharpen your competitive edge:

Accounting option or

Finance option

The Accounting option offers the specialisation to manage accounting application systems and design the relevant process work flow to reduce risk exposure. Meanwhile the finance option offers the specialisation to process financial transaction and deal flow of various financial markets products.

What truly complement the educational advantages of DFI course are the real-life and industry-based Final Year Project (FYP) and Industrial Training Program (ITP). All DFI students must complete a final year project before they graduate. All must identify a project to work on for a client who has real requirements and needs.

"DFI, my right choice and path, a platform where its flexibility encourages every individual to be trained in both IT and finance."

- Ms Tan Wen Ting,
Top DFI Graduate 2011
