First engineering course
We offered Singapore's first engineering course in 1958 and have since remain the island's de facto first-choice Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Ceaseless reinventing to align with international trends has won us world-wide acclaim and accreditation.
Broad-based skills
Our students develop a firm foundation in a wide range of engineering disciplines and some non-engineering basics in business, arts and medicine. They specialize in one of six options to hone skills in a key area of engineering expertise. For some graduates, mobility has translated to forefront IT careers or even business degrees from prestigious universities.
Industry-oriented learning
We are the only DME course applying Design Thinking methodology to MIT's CDIO framework. Students apply a holistic approach to the Conceive, Design, Implement and Operation stages of their final-year project. This unique ability to 'design the original and rethink the conventional' has launched numerous outstanding engineering careers with statutory boards, MNCs and SMEs.
