Clementi
Clementi is a bustling neighbourhood town, just one MRT stop away from SP. There are a wide variety of shops including banks, supermarkets, bookshops, boutiques and florists. Food can also be easily found in Clementi. There are fast food joints (including the 24-hour McDonalds' and KFC), cafes (Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf) and bakeries (Prima Deli). The hawker food stalls also sell many local delights such as nasi lemak and prawn noodles.
Those looking to catch a movie can go to Eng Wah Empress Cineplex, which operates 6 screens, mostly Mandarin movies and English blockbusters. There are also numerous video arcades and Internet-gaming cafes.
Dover
Dover is a relatively small neighbourhood, located in the west between Clementi and Queenstown. It is often a noted location due to the sheer number of educational facilities it houses.
Holland Village
Holland Village is a small enclave near Singapore Polytechnic. There are many food outlets there serving all kinds of local and international cuisine, which are popular with the younger crowd and expatriates alike. It is also a good place to find specialist shops selling handicraft, furniture and antiques.
Jurong East
Another MRT stop away from Clementi is Jurong East. Although it is situated away from the city central, you can easily find most of the major amenities you would expect to find in the town area. The IMM mall is within walking distance from the Jurong East MRT station, and its tenants include Giant, Watsons, Sony Gallery, DMK and SK Jewellery.
Right next to the MRT station, you can also find Jurong Entertainment Center, which houses a large state-of-the-art cineplex, and various fast-food outlets.
