Singapore Polytechnic Open House (SPOH) has been held annually in Singapore Polytechnic (SP) to assist visitors in identifying courses suitable for them through Career Interest Profiling, as well as to facilitate good visitor experience. As the largest event in SP, SPOH aims to provide a brief concept on the campus environment in SP. The event was held for four days and it attracted an influx of 29,000 visitors.
During the event, visitors were able to acquire more information about the school through course counselling. In this project, our team was tasked in providing suggestions, proposing goodie bag items, sourcing for various quotations, recruiting, training and managing volunteers, as well as executing the overall operation during event days.
Our duties also involved managing secondary school students, to plan the appreciation dinner as well as to execute walking tours for the public in each of the academic schools. This included working closely with lecturers in-charge, vendors and school clubs to realise the plans. This year we managed 4,722 secondary school students and 24,617 public visitors.
Through the event, the team understood the importance of teamwork, leadership and perseverance.
