Singapore Polytechnic Open House 2019
Singapore Polytechnic Open House (SPOH) is an event hosted annually by Singapore Polytechnic, targeted at school-leavers from secondary school, Institute of Technical Education (ITE) other potential SP students. The objective of SPOH 2019 was to provide potential students with a better understanding of what SP has to offer.
After a meeting with the client, Department of Communications, two teams from the Diploma in Integrated Events & Project Management (DEPM) undertook a design thinking study. With that, they concluded to have a warmer and more sincere welcome party, and a refined goodie bag system which helped to attain an estimated visitorship of 24,000 in the span of four days.
The teams recruited and trained a total of 120 volunteers for the different job scopes, and also had to plan the bus and physical routes as well as logistical items. In order for the volunteers to know their job scopes well, the teams had a two-day training planned where they bonded and briefed volunteers thoroughly about their roles and expectations.
The student teams were grateful to the client, lecturers and volunteers for taking for providing them the challenging yet enriching journey.
