04 Nov 2015

Singapore Polytechnic was awarded the Institution Challenge Award with prize money of $1,000 for the CDL E-Generation Challenge 2015. Seven SP teams, consisting of 37 students from DEWT and DCEB courses, participated in the eco-adventure competition organised by City Development Limited (CDL) on 11 July 2015.

This is the sixth year of the event which attracted 60 teams, comprising over 300 youth participants. This year’s theme, “Print Your Foodprint” provided a funfilled platform to foster eco-consciousness amongst youth. Styled after the “Amazing Race”, the event intends to get youth to understand environmental issues in an interactive and engaging manner. The flag-off and finish point for the competition was at City Square Mall, Singapore’s first Eco-mall.

The five-hour long race saw participants comb all corners of Singapore – via public transport or on foot – as they competed in tasks that were both physically and mentally stimulating. The CDL E-Generation Challenge 2015 is supported by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), National Environment Agency (NEA), National Parks Board (NParks) and Singapore Food Bank.
