Island-wide Flag Day event organized by DEPM students to raise funds for sheltered and street animals.

Animals’ Day Out 2015 was an island-wide Flag Day event held on 11 October 2015. Supported by Pets Magazine, Silversky, Nee Soon GRC Pets Fiesta and Action for Singapore Dogs, the event aims to raise funds for stray and abandoned animals living on the streets and shelters across Singapore as well as raise awareness about animal welfare, and encourage patience and compassion among Singaporeans.

Organised by the students from the Diploma in Integrated Events & Project Management (DEPM), this meaningful event comprises of photo booths, merchandise booths and adoption drives set up at Orchard Road as well as collection points at Tampines, Ang Mo Kio and Dover. The students’ role in this project was to source for sponsorship, design the event materials and assist in volunteer recruitment and execution of the actual event.

This year, Animals’ Day Out saw the most number of participants volunteering, with 500 animal lovers and 200 pets raising funds around Singapore. The event successfully raised an astonishing amount of $20 741.80 for the beneficiaries.
