DHLFM Students Visit Kok Fah Technology Farm

Second year students from the Diploma in Hotel & Leisure Facilities Management (DHLFM) visited Kok Fah Technology Farm located at 108 Sungei Tengah Road from 9 to 13 May 2016 as part of their out of classroom learning for the module Environmental Management & Sustainability.

The objective of the farm visit is to provide students with an insight on how technologies can be used in local farming to produce vegetables.

The one-hour farm tour showed students the pre and post harvesting stages of vegetable farming where students witnessed the various technologies used in automated seedling machines, cold chain process system, rapid vacuum cooling and rapid packaging machine. It was an eye-opening and enriching experience for the students who have never stepped into a farm before.
