DLA Collaboration with URA

25 Apr 2017

Diploma in Landscape Architecture Year 3 students collaborated with URA for their Final Year Project at Spottiswoode Park which was to focus on the design of a public landscaped area in front of the existing Tanjong Pagar Railway Station.

34 DLA Final Year students developed a Master Concept Plan to facilitate the implementation of future social and communal activities that will be infiltrating the quiet neighbourhood of Spottiswoode Park from the renewal of Tanjong Pagar Railway Station and the upcoming Cantonment MRT.

Students participated in a URA community workshop facilitated by URA Planner, Ms Regina Koo, with residents of the area, to learn more about the future development of Tanjong Pagar Railway Station and the Green Corridor Belt. This involved an Interim Critique Review to streamline and align the student’s understanding of the project objectives, needs and requirements with URA’s original design intent.

The DLA students presented their concept of the Master Plan proposals to the URA Planners, who in turn, will collate the selected proposals to share with their design consultants involved in the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station Re-development. A final URA presentation by the DLA students will be targeted towards the end of 2016.
