12 Yr 3 Diploma in Landscape Architecture students were invited to participate in the Rail Corridor Community Workshop organized by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) on 2 Apr, Sat morning at the Fuchun Community Centre.
As part of URA’s work on the future Rail Corridor, they engaged local communities to gather design and users’ feedback on ideas for the proposed Rail Corridor. The feedback and ideas would be taken into consideration as part of URA’s refinement of the concept Master Plan for the final proposed Rail Corridor.
During the workshop, the DLA students were tasked to facilitate the discussion groups to ‘illustrate’ their thoughts on drawings and plans while contributing their DLA landscape design knowledge and ideas. At the end of the workshop, two DLA students presented their conceptual ideas to Mdm Halimah Yacob, Mr Desmond Lee and URA staff. The workshop was a prelude to the collaboration with URA for the DLA Year 3 Final Year Project (2016), which would include the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station as part of the study as well.
