DLA Visit to Dawson Estate

08 Dec 2016

On 18th October 2016, Diploma in Landscape Architecture Year 3 students were given a rare site show-round by our own Advisory Committee Member Ms Tay Bee Choo, Deputy Director (Landscape Implementation Section) Housing Development Board.

Diploma in Landscape Architecture (DLA) final year students visited the latest housing projects in Dawson estate; Sky Ville and Sky Terrace as part of their out-of-classroom learning. Both projects featured seamless connectivity with introduction of greenery at different planes and levels. The existing Alexandra Canal Linear Park (Park Connector) was also integrated into the landscape design and community cum recreational facilities were created for residents to enjoy.

DLA students learned about the design and plant selection for Rain Gardens & Swale features on site

The students also had the opportunity to learn from Ms Tay Bee Choo (HDB) who hosted our visit. During the walk, she shared her valuable insights about landscape designing, selection of materials and maintenance requirement with the students. They enjoyed the visit and look forward to apply what they have learned in their Final Year Project.
