Diploma in Landscape Architecture graduating students won Encouragement Award at Sembcorp Marine’s Green Wave Environmental Care Competition

The competition submission by a team of students from the Diploma in Landscape Architecture (DLA) entitled “Green Edge” has been awarded the Encouragement Award. The DLA team comprises of 2 graduating DLA students, Mohammad Amirul Bin Abdul Rahman & Yip Jin Sheng.

The DLA team completed this mini project during an Elective module, BE9004 Advanced Digital Presentation (ADP) from Apr’16 to May’16 as part of their Year 3 curriculum and submitted their idea for the competition. This competition was opened to all students currently studying in Singapore’s primary and secondary schools, junior colleges and Institute of Technical Education and tertiary institutions. 

The proposal by the DLA team was one of the 13 shortlisted projects (out of 279 projects); whereby the students made a project presentation to the panel of judges for final round of assessment in Nov’16. Amirul and Yin Sheng attended the Award Presentation Ceremony held at the Marina Mandarin Hotel in February 2017 and received the award from the Guest-of-Honour, Mr. Ng Chee Meng, Minister for Education (Schools) and Second Minister for Transport.
