The Green Challenge Competition is an annual event organized by SP Green Committee to award final year projects which tackle green issues.

The students were able to follow directions given by their supervisor to collect, recycle and reuse neglected dry leaves from various trees across Singapore Polytechnic campus as part of environmental awareness. Analytical skill was also developed when the students were trained to measure the concentration of benzene using high tech equipment of GC-MS. The key success factors in winning the award were value of research, good team work, aspiration, resilience, trust and good time management between supervisor and students.

The project team was supervised by Dr Handojo Djati Utomo (ABE) with co-supervision from Dr Lim Zheng Bang and Melissa Ang from AMTC (Advanced Material and Technology Centre).
