Six Year 2 students from the Diploma in Integrated Events & Project Management (DEPM) helped organised the Olympic Day Run 2014 as part of their Integrated Project module.
Organised by McDonald’s and the Singapore National Olympic Council, the event took place at West Coast Park on the morning of 12 July 2014 to coincide with the worldwide celebration of Olympic Day. This year’s event comprised of various Olympic Sports related try-outs and stage games such as Archery Tag Try-Out and a Kite Colouring Competition, and attracted approximately 2,500 people.
The students involved primarily concentrated on route confirmation and drawings, volunteer recruitment and on-site execution with partners such as the sponsors, schools, and suppliers.
