*SCAPE Collision 2014: Supernova Bash

15 Dec 2014

A team of 11 second-year students from the Diploma in Integrated Events & Project Management had worked with *SCAPE Co Ltd to organise *SCAPE Collision 2014: Supernova Bash, the largest indoor countdown party in Singapore. Organised by youths for youths, the Galaxy-themed party attracted a crowd of 1,300 to the *Scape Ground Theatre.

The event aimed to encourage youths to welcome the New Year together in a safe-partying atmosphere, with up-and-coming youth bands such as Elliptical, Vocal Powerhouse, Louisa Kan and local band, Stella Story.
The 11-member team were involved from the conceptualisation of the event till the execution and shut down. They assisted from procuring sponsors and logistical materials, to scouting for volunteers, models and performers to work on a pro-bono basis.

Leading up to the event, the students planned a series of pre-event activities to reach out to the youths: The Logo Design Competition provided a platform for aspiring designers to put their talents to practice whereas the volunteer training camp was the perfect setting to make new friends. A fund-raising event was also held to encourage the public to end 2013 on a meaningful note. Each donor penned his resolutions on a balloon and had his photo taken for $5. The proceeds were donated to Child-At-Risk-Empowerment-Association Singapore.
