DCEB Student Won Gold Medal in WorldSkills Singapore – Water Technology

A student from Diploma in Civil Engineering with Business (DCEB) won the Biennial WorldSkills Singapore (WSS) Competition again!

WSS – Water Technology was successfully held in School of Architecture & the Built Environment from 29 Sep to 01 Oct 2020.

After a gruelling competition during which he had to face off against 5 strong competitors from ITE and other polytechnics, Ang Shao Shen, a third year student from DCEB, clinched the Gold Medal.

This competition covered a broad range of tasks related to the operation of water and wastewater treatment plants and maintenance of critical equipment. The specific skills tested included chemistry, biology, mechanics, electrical, automation and environmental protection.

Shao Shen shared that “It has been an honour to represent SP for the WSS competition. It was an unique experience for me. I have the opportunity to learn something beyond my regular curriculum. I would like to thank my lecturers who provided ample support throughout my training.”
