DLA in Tree Planting at International Day of Forests 2018
15 May 2018
On 17 Mar 2018, 11 DLA students volunteered for a tree planting program organized by NParks at Fort Canning Park in conjunction with International Day of Forests 2018 http://www.un.org/en/events/forestsday/. DLA teaches students to love nature and conserve natural heritage that sustains the planet and all life form. In specific modules, DLA highlights the importance of trees in landscape architecture. Surpassing plant identification, technical drawings and learning in field trips, the tree planting program enabled students to experience the work put into tree planting, a meaningful act that enhances the environment. NParks also launched trees.sg https://www1.nparks.gov.sg/trees, an online platform to learn more about streetscape trees.
