A dedicated SP CLS educator who shapes lives

27 Jul 2022

An alumnus from the Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (DEEE), Neo Jiun Hao Joel, was recently awarded the prestigious Koh Boon Hwee Scholars Award for achieving all-round success at NTU. Joel nominated a lecturer from the School of Chemical & Life Sciences (CLS), Dr. Noel Kristian, for his inspirational teaching, dedicated guidance and enduring bonds that he had forged with the Joel, contributing to his achievements. Dr Kristian taught Joel in the Engineering Academy modules in 2015 and subsequently worked with Joel to design and build a rice paper dryer for the community in Danang, Vietnam as part of the Learning Express (LeX) continuation project. These touchpoints had impacted Joel and shown how lecturers are able to potentially touch the lives of students.

Beyond the monetary grant established in Dr Kristian’s name, which will benefit another SP graduate enrolling in NTU, Dr. Kristian truly exemplify the spirit of an SP Educator.
