SP Chemical Engineering student awarded Energy-Industry Scholarship

Neo Yi Jie Alex is a third year student pursuing the Diploma in Chemical Engineering. Formerly from ITE West, he was matriculated to the course through the Early Admission Exercise (EAE). During his time in ITE, he joined the Sembcorp-Energy Market Authority (EMA) challenge where he had the opportunity to tour one of Sembcorp’s power plants. This sparked an interest in him to learn more about the energy and power sector in Singapore.

Alex learned about steam generation and water treatment during an internship at Sembcorp. Knowing the importance of utility management and how it supports the various chemical industries, he has decided to pursue the Energy-Industry Scholarship for a career in the energy and power even before graduating from his diploma course. He is excited to embark in his future career as a boiler technician at Tuas Power after completing his National Service.
