Stint at Mr Bean serves as eye-opener

The Straits Times, 28 July 2019 - Article featured SP’s Diploma in Food Science & Technology graduate Shanice Lim, who shared how the Earn and Learn Programme (ELP) was beneficial to her. After graduating with her diploma, Shanice worked four days at Mr Bean, a home-grown soya bean food and beverage retailer, and attended classes at SP once a week, as part of the ELP. Shanice opined that she learnt from both her polytechnic lecturers and workplace supervisor, especially during her capstone project on the ELP. She also shared how the ELP was beneficial to her personal development and allowed her to further her interest in food science. With her employer's support, Shanice will be enrolling in the Singapore Institute of Technology in a food technology programme, on a scholarship from Mr Bean.
