Recognition for Top Year 1 and 2 EEE Students at Award Ceremony

About 400 attendees comprising students, parents, industry sponsors, secondary school teachers and staff gathered at the Annual Award Presentation Ceremony held on 20 July 2018 at the SP Auditorium. The occasion was to celebrate theAbout 400 attendees comprising students, parents, industry sponsors, secondary school teachers and staff gathered at the Annual Award Presentation Ceremony held on 20 July 2018 at the SP Auditorium. The occasion was to celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of our year one and two students. The students, numbering 163 in total, were all ranked within the top 10% of their respective cohorts and placed on the Director’s Honour Roll (DHR). 22 of them were additionally accorded book prizes by our industry sponsors for achieving the top one and two places in their cohorts (see table below).

Students had the opportunity to hear EEE’s outstanding alumnus, S Saravanan, who is currently a Research Engineer with Airbus, share his educational journey and the challenges he faced in the industry. The evening saw parents beaming with pride as their children strode forward to the front of the auditorium to receive their DHR certificates from their Course Chairs and/or book prizes from our industry sponsors (see table below). Many students and parents joyously captured their proud moments at a photo booth designed by students while our industry sponsors spent time connecting with our prize winners after the ceremony.

Serving as a platform to nurture the creative and leadership talents of our students, the event was organised and run by a student committee who kept the programme moving smoothly, from registration and ushering of students and guests to the hosting and presentation of the certificate and book prizes. Our students also showcased their talents in 2 dance performances, testifying to the holistic education environment which SP offers, where students can pursue their passion in areas outside studies.

Our congratulations to all the students who had received their awards at the presentation.
