The team successfully completed their mission of deploying 2 drones (one mothership and the other drone to drop the payload) at the same time from the launch area to search for a human-like target in a large paddy field, a size approximately 2-3 football fields with tall grasses and decoys. The objective was to use the drone to deliver a first aid kit weighting 1kg to the target which was an injured personnel.

Challenges encountered by the team included poor video transmission (flickering of live video stream from on-board camera which made it difficult to locate the target), as well as momentary cut-off of radio transmission between drone and remote transmitter at certain blind spots where there is no control of the drone by remote pilot. As such, the drone had to fall back on the programmed waypoints to continue flying. This is one of the most challenging applied learning scenario for UAVs in competitions.
