PROJECT R.E.V.I.V.E FOR BLIND USERS
With the close collaboration with Singapore Polytechnic, Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) and Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH), we aim to provide Navigation assistance shoe to blind users via a mobile device by sending the patterns of vibration to the motors embedded into the shoe’s insole. Besides, obstacle detection and prevention will be enabled through built-in sensors (ultrasonic) and sound buzzer.
Our target users are full or partial visually impaired patients. Our project would fulfil the needs of the target users by guiding them to their respective destinations in a very safe manner and avoiding them from collision with harmful objects. Hence, they would need not to use the walking stick (white cane) or guided dog to detect obstacles and provide direction.
