DIPLOMA IN ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING (S99)

NETWORKS CLOUD & ANALYTICS TECHNOLOGY CENTRE

NETWORKS, CLOUD & ANALYTICS TECHNOLOGY CENTRE
Broadband Communication

Students will learn about basic networking and proceed to more in-depth knowledge of Cisco router and switches.
Computer Innovation

Students will have a general overview of computer networking, such as networking terminology, concepts, devices, functionality, applications and standard via a visual simulation tool designed by Cisco Systems.
Computer Networking

Students will gain an understanding of network fundamental and computer network routing principles. Students will learn to configure routers and enable dynamic routing protocols for LAN communications. Students will also be equipped with network troubleshooting skills and able to discuss LAN design issues involving multiple routers.
Computer Security

Students will learn about network and system security.
Computer Systems

Students will gain basic understanding of data storage technology, such as hard disk drives structure, performance, and various data storage system configurations such as Direct Attached Storage or Network Attached Storage etc.
Data Communication Systems

Students will learn to enhance their knowledge in the field of Computer Networks. It also provides students with the necessary understanding of equipment and techniques used in the implementation of data communication systems
Network Operation

Students will learn
1. network management functions, protocol and standards.

2. the underlying concepts essential to the protocols of the TCP/IP protocol suite.

3. the use of Network Analysis and Packet Capture tools to analyze data flowing through a network.

4. Cloud Computing and System Virtualization (for Year 3 students). The lab has a data centre for students to explore during their learning.

Network System Design

Network System Design for Year 2 students from the Diploma in Computer Engineering (DCPE) or Year 3 students from the Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (DEEE) taking the Medical Informatics Telemedicine module.
Technology Centre - Networks, Cloud & Analytics

It is a project development centre where critical applications and servers are housed, intellectual property resides and vital business data are processed.
