FUTURE CAREER AND STUDIES

I can begin my career

According to the Energy Market Authority, Singapore will need 11,000 energy management professionals across various sectors to maintain its economic growth over the next 10 years. Jobs in the energy sectors or power and utilities companies will thus be abundant for DESM graduates. Some career options that are available to DESM graduates include:

  • Assistant Electrical Engineer
  • Assistant Field Services Engineer
  • Electrical Service Assistant Engineer
  • Facilities Management Assistant Engineer
  • Assistant Engineer (PV System)
  • Technical Officer (Power Distribution System)
  • Energy Audit Assistant

Upon graduation, you are also eligible to apply for an Electrical Technician Licence issued by the Energy Market Authority which will boost your employment options in the electrical industry.

Most of our engineering fresh graduates will begin   their career as an Assistant Engineer, progress to Engineer and then advance to Senior Engineer after they have gained technical experience in the field. Opportunity for growth and advancement to management position is possible after they have worked  as a Senior Engineer for few years by becoming a Manager, taking up greater responsibility and challenges to hone their people management skills.
