EEE winnings at RoboCup 2024

EEE team Robo-Erectus@Work participated in RoboCup 2024 held from 15 to 21 Jul 2024, Eindhoven and won the following awards:

  • 4th Place Award in RoboCup@Work League
  • 3rd Place Award in Open Source Awards

Apart from edging out teams from universities from Australia, Germany and Netherlands, EEE team also achieved a new milestone in the 2024 competition with the highest-ever overall score in RoboCup@Work League.

RoboCup@Work League is one of the Major Leagues in RoboCup competition. It aimed to develop innovative autonomous mobile robots equipped with advanced manipulators and sensors for current and future industrial applications, to collaborate with human workers in complex tasks ranging from manufacturing, automation to artificial intelligence. The competition comprised 11 teams from polytechnics and universities in Australia, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Netherlands and Singapore.

SPlackie, the robot developed by EEE team, showcased a new manipulator system (Gluon Arm) that could consistently perform manipulation tasks especially in the newest test Advanced Transportation Test with increased difficulty by introducing more random elements and advanced objects.
