VR environment: Aircraft and hanger

Synopsis:

Students are currently using hard-copies of 2D images to learn about the different aircraft systems and structures.

The aim of this project is to develop Virtual Reality Training contents that simulate the environment and components with their functional features described within the environment. The environment and components will be created using modelling software learnt. There will be an assessment content developed to ensure that trainees have grasped the content.

Description:

Current teaching methods do not help students visualize the actual product and they way it works in different aircraft systems and structures.

To enhance students learning, the team has created a Virtual Reality (VR) Experience with appropriate industrial environment. The VR training will help trainees understand the aircraft better by being able to interact with the different components. The VR App was designed and developed with the use of existing technology and industrial software such as Autodesk 3ds Max and Unity.
