Cobot workstation ID2Students configuring the CoBot workstation.

This workstation functions as a teaching aid for students learning about the KUKA LBR iiwa 14 Collaborative Robot (CoBot), its programming and industrial applications.

Working with KUKA Industries Singapore, various processes were designed and developed to be used with the CoBot. These processes showcase the capabilities of the KUKA LBR iiwa and allows students to interact with the CoBot safely.

This workstation was custom-designed and built by students, for their peers’ learning. The electronics are mounted conveniently to show how they work with the CoBot and there are storage racks to house the various process fixture plates. The panels and doors of the workstation are detachable to allow for easy access and viewing. The robot controller can be pulled out to show its connections and ease access to it. Handles are included in the workstation to help move the workstation about and double up as a barrier to enhance safety.

This workstation and its many processes give all students the opportunity to learn and work with the KUKA LBR iiwa 14 Collaborative Robot seamlessly and safely.
