Specialist Diploma in Energy Efficiency and Management

Energy efficiency is one of the quickest and most cost-effective ways to reduce carbon emissions and improving environment sustainability. As it is envisioned that the Building Construction Authority may make energy auditing mandatory for buildings, this course was created to meet the future demand for a certified energy manager to monitor and evaluate energy efficiency.

In A Nutshell:
A one-semester, one vacation-break part-time course consisting of 4 modules will address demands for trained personnel to deal with energy auditing and maintain energy efficiency
Co-organised by the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore and Singapore Polytechnic
Professional qualification of certified energy manager (SCEM) at associate level will be awarded as well upon programme completion

Diploma in Landscape Architecture

First started in Academic Year 2004/2005, the Diploma in Landscape Architecture is more than just about beautifying spaces with plants. It’s about educating students on the need for men and nature to co-exist in harmony. This diploma aims to use technology to design green, quality living environments that complements our contemporary culture and lifestyle.

A design programme that focuses on sustaining the natural environment and its eco-system
A very hands-on course that allows students to participate in national events organised by NParks
Other aspects of the course include site visits, visits to nurseries and composting yards, lectures by industry partners and visiting academia and more

Diploma in Environment Management and Water Technology

Depleting resources around the world has seen water and environment technologies become an emerging industry in Singapore. This course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills to overcome environmental challenges and create new solutions.

  - Pulau Semakau Landfill tour
  - Participating in the World Water Monitoring Day (organised by Environmental Engineering Society and endorsed by PUB)

Diploma In Clean Energy

The Research, Innovation and Enterprise Council of Singapore has earmarked Clean energy as an emerging industry. With S$350 million being pumped in over five years to develop this market and a robust global growth in this industry, students can look forward to a bright future. This Diploma aims to train technologists to meet this anticipated manpower needs.

In A Nutshell:
Graduates can seek employment in a variety of sectors including government environmental and energy sectors, power utility and solar photovoltaic companies, fuel cell companies, biomass manufacturers and more.
Other employment opportunities include those in the electrical engineering sector such as technical officers, technologists, design specialists and assistant engineers.
Students can look forward to 2 years advanced standing for Bachelor of Engineering in the Photovoltaic & Solar Energy programme at the University of New South Wales, Australia; and up to 1.5 years for Renewable Energy Engineering for graduates.
