Environmental impact
Potential of academic institution to contribute positively to the environment, as we create environmental awareness and contribute in research and capacity building, supporting national environmental policies and forging green partnerships.

Performance Status
Our teaching of environmental modules, student projects as well as staff research are well established with encouraging results. Currently 70% of our courses contain environmental and sustainability elements and all our chemical and engineering laboratories have incorporated environmental and safety components in laboratory practices.

Our academic schools and the Green Committee have regular green outreach programmes for secondary schools and the communities and such as the Green Spelling Bees Contest, National Solar Sprint Competition and Singapore River Raft Race as well as single events like the Blue Earth Greening website contest in 2007. We also partnered other organizations in green seminars, activities, competitions, research projects and new initiatives. Internally, we have continued to raise awareness as we celebrated the Clean and Green Singapore with fun and games in our annual Amazing Green Race and launched the SP ECO Office Challenge 2007 in addition to the annual Green Buddy Award.
