Ecosystem Sustainability Engagement Day Organised by Constellar Singapore

ESEE was recently invited to attend “Building a Sustainable MICE Ecosystem: Partnering for Progress”, hosted by Constellar Singapore at Singapore Expo on 24 Sep 2025.
Singapore Expo received the BCA Green Mark Platinum (Super Low Energy) award this year, a testimonial of its leading status as Asia’s most sustainable MICE venue with three key targets to reduce 75% Scope 1 and 2 emissions, 30% improvement in energy use intensity (EUI) and 10% improvement in water efficiency.
Mr Ian Gan, Vice President of Management and Sustainability at Constellar, put it: “Sustainability is a harmonious relationship between humanity and nature.” A thoughtful idea—but one being turned into practice through very grounded efforts. What made their sustainability journey impactful wasn’t just about numbers, but how they were achieved—through closed collaboration via an ecosystem they have established with solution providers and institutions.
Support from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), EnterpriseSG, and NTUC—through grants such as Energy Efficiency Grant, Productivity Solutions Grant, and CTC Grant—have helped translate plans into actions. Mr Desmond Tan, Senior Minister of State and Deputy Secretary-General-NTUC, shared that over 700 companies have already benefited from CTC grant by equipping business owners with capabilities to meet real-world demands arising from sustainability challenges.
And then there was a gentle reminder from Mr Hong Tin Wei, Director of ESG and Sustainable Leader, Grant Thornton: “No action is too small.” Whether it’s streamlining logistics, reducing printed materials, or choosing energy-efficient lighting—these choices add up. The road to net zero isn’t about grand gestures. It’s about consistent and collective steps—taken together.
