Asia’s Great Snack Challenge: Snacking Up Our Local Brands

Food Innovation & Resource Centre (FIRC) is honoured to be the Technical Advisor and Incubator-Partner of the recent exciting Asia’s Great Snack Challenge being organised by Enterprise Singapore and to be a part of the journey of these winners and finalists in creating their very own Snack stories.

During the three-month period, our teams in FIRC have provided training, guidance and technical assistance on how the participating companies can refine their snacks through food ingredients, processing and packaging technology. In one instance, our Food Technologist provided specific advice how to improve the taste and texture of their product by incorporating different ingredients in various proportions. Furthermore, through the incubation, the finalists were able to explore the different processing possibilities and validated the shelf life of their products, both from safety and quality perspectives.

FIRC is thrilled that six out of the 10 finalists have successfully commercialised and are now retailing their snack products at Redmart and Food Folks @ Lau Pa Sat.
