DIRECTOR'S WELCOME

Dr Chong

In response to the new challenges shaping Singapore's economic landscape, the Economic Strategies Committee has initiated a national drive to promote skill, innovation and productivity as the basis for sustained growth.

Our workforce is steadily strengthening its global, competitive edge. Creative and versatile workers undertake increasingly complex, multi-disciplinary tasks. To align our education and training, we have evolved a holistic curriculum that emphasizes analytical reasoning, critical thinking and communication skills.

All MAE courses have embraced the Design Thinking (DT) methodology under the Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate (CDIO) framework. We engage and excite youths through active lessons leading to in-depth applications. Teaching and learning thrive in an environment conducive to industrial start-ups or commercial spin-offs. R&D ventures in the applied sciences have spawned viable engineering solutions.

Bold forays beyond our campus have forged fruitful collaborations with forefront industries locally and overseas. Our students not only learn from realistic laboratory simulations but also experience real scenarios through attachments with these supportive partners.

We stay focused on our vision to produce graduates who are work-ready, life-ready and world-ready. These vibrant young minds will be instrumental in Singapore's quest to be a distinctive Asian city of high-skilled people steering a diverse economy through innovative and inclusive development.
