The course will provide participants with the essential knowledge and skills to take on a role as a premise operations manager. This includes an understanding of facilities management, fire safety, finance and procurement management as well as gaining some core skills in mindset transformation and interpersonal relations.

Course Objective

The objective of this course is to equip participants with the necessary skills to manage the facilities effectively as well as being able to provide support in areas related to management of premises and stakeholders.

Course Outline

By the end of the Course, participants will be able to: 

1. Outline the importance of fire safety, the installation and maintenance of fire safety systems, and the roles and responsibilities of appointment holders
2. Identify the safety, health and welfare of workmen when carrying out renovation, refurbishment and facilities management work
3. Apply basic accounting and financial concepts to business operations
4. Manage and engage more effectively through active listening and empathetic speaking at the workplace 
5. Identify causes of conflicts and apply conflict resolution strategies
6. Develop strategies to secure stakeholder approval and support 
7. Develop strategies to enhance effectiveness at the workplace 
8. Recognise the scope of work and ethics under the facilities manager’s purview and the inter-relationship between stakeholders

Minimum Requirements

  1. Full GCE ‘A’ Level Certificate (minimum of 2 ‘H2’ and 2 ‘H1’ Level passes including General Paper)
  2. Diploma (excluding Specialist Diploma) from local polytechnics (NP, NYP, RP, SP or TP)
  3. Degree from local universities

Certification / Accreditation

  1. Certificate of Completion in Fire Safety Management
  2. Certificate of Completion in Fundamentals of Finance and Procurement management
  3. Certificate of Completion in Mindset Transformation and Interpersonal Relations
  4. Certificate of Completion in Fundamentals of Facilities Management

Upon passing the assessment of each certificate, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
Upon completion of all the certificates, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion for the SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP).

With the skills and knowledge gained from this programme, participants who have completed the course will be able to take on new challenges in the Real Estate industry with job roles as follows:

As per SSG’s policy, the GST payable for all funding-eligible applicants is calculated based on prevailing GST rate after baseline funding subsidy of 70%
