Course Introduction:
The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Sea Transport Professionals and Associates aims to equip Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (“PMETs”) and Rank-and-File workers (“RnF”) with relevant skillsets to take on Sea Transport related job roles in the area of Port Operations and Services, Shipping, and Maritime Services.
The target beneficiaries are Singapore Citizens (SCs) or Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs) who are:
(a) Mid-career individuals who are seeking to acquire new skills in, or switch careers and take on Sea Transport related job roles
(b) Employees currently employed in the Sea Transport sector who are at risk of redundancy and seeking to acquire new skills for new/expanded role
(c) Employees currently employed in the Sea Transport sector identified to
undergo reskilling to ensure their relevance with the transforming landscape
Course Duration and Training Mode:

- PMETs – up to 6 months
- Associates – 3 months

PMETs
- New Hires – 6 months training consisting of facilitated learning (1 core module + 2 elective modules) and On-the-Job Training (OJT) with a company within the sea transport sector.
- Redeployment – 6 months training consisting of facilitated learning (1 elective module) and On-the-Job Training (OJT) with a company within the sea transport sector.
- Job Redesign (JR) Reskilling – 3 months training consisting of facilitated learning (1 elective module) and On-the-Job Training (OJT) with a company within the sea transport sector.
Associates
- New Hires – 3 months training consisting of facilitated learning (1 core module) and On-the-Job Training (OJT) with a company within the sea transport sector.
- Redeployment – 3 months training consisting of facilitated learning (1 elective module) and On-the-Job Training (OJT) with a company within the sea transport sector.
- Job Redesign (JR) Reskilling – 3 months training consisting of facilitated learning (1 elective module) and On-the-Job Training (OJT) with a company within the sea transport sector.

The Programme is open to all company-sponsored applicants (SCs and PRs) who meet the following General Eligibility Criteria:
- New Hires
- Minimum 21 years old
- Graduated or completed National Service, whichever is later, at least two years prior at the point of application
- Must not be in the same job role prior to joining the PCP
- Have no bond obligation with any organisation
- Meet employer or course-specific selection criteria, where applicable
- Newly hired within the last 3 months, and nominated by an eligible company prior to enrolment into the programme
- Redeployment
- Have to be at risk of redundancy and to take on a new role in the company
- Existing Full-Time employee with at least 1 year contract remaining at point of enrolment
- Job Redesign (JR) Reskilling
- Has an expanded role in the company
- Existing Full-Time employee with at least 1 year contract remaining at point of enrolment
For Participating Companies:
- Be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Ensure that new hires cannot be:
- A shareholder of the PCP company, or its related companies;
- Related to the owner(s) of the PCP company; and
- Immediate ex-staff of PCP company or its related companies;
- Must offer the new hire a job and issue a valid permanent employment contract; full-time contract employment must be at least 12 months
- Conversions can be inter-sectoral or intra-sectoral1
- Must be able to provide structured OJT training for the candidate.
- To justify the need for Redeployment and/or Job Redesign Reskilling, company must provide details of their transformation plans in their application2, details on the job creation/redesign and/or job enhancement (i.e. current job scope vs new/enhanced job scope)
1Inter-sectoral refers to a new job in a different sector, intra-sectoral refers to a different job in the same sector

Possess at least a NITEC/Higher NITEC/Diploma/Degree from any discipline.
