Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Clean & Renewable Energy Professionals

Course Introduction:

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Clean and Renewable Energy Professionals aims to equip Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (“PMETs”) with relevant skillsets to take on new jobs in the area of clean and renewable energy. 
The target beneficiaries are Singapore Citizens (SCs) or Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs) who are:

(a) Existing workers of companies who are undergoing reskilling and job redesign to take on new redesigned job roles within the company;

(b) Existing workers of companies who are at risk of displacement and will be reskilled as they are redeployed to take on new job roles within the company; and

(c) New hires undergoing skills conversion to take on new job roles in another industry.


Course Duration and Training Mode: 

Course Duration: 
• New Hires or Redeployment – 6 months
• Job-Redesign Reskilling – 3 months

Training Mode: 
New Hires – 6 months training consisting of facilitated learning (2 core modules + 1 elective module) and On-the-Job Training (OJT) with a company within the clean and renewable energy sector.
Redeployment – 6 months training consisting of facilitated learning (2 core modules + 1 elective module) and On-the-Job Training (OJT) with a company within the clean and renewable energy sector.
Job Redesign (JR) Reskilling – 3 months training consisting of facilitated learning (2 core modules + 1 elective module) and On-the-Job Training (OJT) with a company within the clean and renewable energy sector.

Venue: 
• Facilitated classroom training (Face-to-Face (F2F) or Online Synchronous) - Singapore Polytechnic
• On-the-Job Training (OJT) - participating company

Suitable For: 

For Individuals:

The Programme is open to all company-sponsored applicants (SCs and PRs) who meet the following General Eligibility Criteria:

• New Hires

o Minimum 21 years old
o Graduated or completed National Service, whichever is later, at least two years prior at the point of application
o Must not be in the same job role prior to joining the PCP
o Have no bond obligation with any organisation
o Meet employer or course-specific selection criteria, where applicable
o Newly hired within the last 3 months, and nominated by an eligible company prior to enrolment into the programme

• Redeployment

o Have to be at risk of redundancy and to take on a new role in the company
o Existing Full-Time employee with at least 1 year contract remaining at point of enrolment

• Job Redesign (JR) Reskilling

o Has an expanded role in the company
o Existing Full-Time employee with at least 1 year contract remaining at point of enrolment

For Participating Companies:

• Be registered or incorporated in Singapore

• Ensure that new hires cannot be:

o A shareholder of the PCP company, or its related companies;
o Related to the owner(s) of the PCP company; and
o Immediate ex-staff of PCP company or its related companies;

• Must offer the new hire a job and issue a valid permanent employment contract; full-time contract employment must be at least 12 months

• Conversions can be inter-sectoral or intra-sectoral1

• Must be able to provide structured OJT training for the candidate.

• To justify the need for Redeployment and/or Job Redesign Reskilling, company must provide details of their transformation plans in their application2, details on the job creation/redesign and/or job enhancement (i.e. current job scope vs new/enhanced job scope)

1Inter-sectoral refers to a new job in a different sector, intra-sectoral refers to a different job in the same sector
2All applications would be evaluated on a case-by-case basis

Minimum Entry Requirements: 

Possess at least a NITEC/Higher NITEC/Diploma/Degree in Engineering/Science/Technology


Award / Certification / Accreditation

Participants who complete the module will be issued a:
• Certificate of Performance, if they pass the assessment;
• Certificate of Attendance, if they either have not undertaken the assessment or fail the assessment.

The Salary Support will commensurate with their academic qualifications and working experience. Companies are not eligible to submit Absentee Payroll claims on behalf of trainees who are in the programme.
