Introduction
As Singapore strives to become a Smart Nation, cyber security becomes more important as more data and functions are put into computers, handphones, networks and other devices. The 2.5-year part-time Diploma in Infocomm & Digital Media (Cyber Security) course will cover different areas of cyber security.
Course Objectives
The Diploma in Infocomm & Digital Media (Cyber Security) aims to train students to work competently in the area of cyber security, particularly in the area of penetration testing/vulnerabilities assessment and incident response and management.
Suitable For
Working adults who wish to acquire skills and knowledge which would help them seek a job in the cyber security industry or to progress in their cyber security career.
Students of this course can sign up to attempt the EC Council’s Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) examination with online self-study course materials at a discounted student price (self-financed).
Participants are
required to bring a computer laptop with admin access for running virtual
machines (preferably Windows OS and at least 8GB RAM, recommended 16GB RAM for
running multiple virtual machines) for onsite sessions.
Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants with any of the following qualifications are invited to apply for the Part-Time diploma:
a) The following GCE 'O' Level grades and with at least 1 year of relevant working experience:
English Language Grade 1 – 7
Mathematics (Elementary or Additional) Grade 1 – 6
Science Grade 1 – 6
OR
b) Nitec with GPA >= 3.5 in an engineering or information technology discipline.
OR
c) Nitec with GPA >= 3.0 in an engineering or information technology discipline and with at least 1 year of relevant working experience.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience in information technology or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
Course Outline
The course is a 2.5 years part-time programme. It consists of 5 Modular Certificates (MC) conducted over 5 semesters, 1 MC per semester. The classes are conducted in the evenings. Each MC comprises three modules and the details are as follows:

Upon completion of five Certificates within a five-year validity period, the participant will be conferred a Diploma qualification from Singapore Polytechnic.
