Specialist Diploma in Technology, Innovation & Analytics for Financial Sector Professionals


Introduction

The banking and finance industry is undergoing rapid changes.  As the evolving digital climate change the sector and its employment prospects, financial sector professionals need to be equipped with skills to stay relevant and secure meaningful roles in the new financial setting. 

SP School of Business’ Specialist Diploma in Technology, Innovation & Analytics for Financial Sector Professionals will enable middle level managers working in the financial sector to acquire further knowledge and skills within their trained discipline areas and value add to their organisation.  This course also allows the participant to explore areas of new job opportunities within the sector based on the future-enabled skillset identified by the Institute of Banking and Finance.

Course Objectives

This course aims to equip the participants with future-enabled skills.  

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able:

• To use data analytics for better decision making
• To adopt a human-centric approach to innovation and customer engagement
• To assess and manage risks in the digital world 
• To apply skills and knowledge in the course to the financial services sector

Suitable for

This course is specially designed for middle managers currently working or with experience in the financial sector whose jobs are impacted by digital transformation and need to learn, incorporate and use technology in their workplace.

With the skills and knowledge gained from this course, the participant will be able to stay relevant in the evolving digital transformation in the banking and finance sector.


Minimum Entry Requirements

Applicants should be a Polytechnic Diploma or Degree graduate currently working in the financial sector.

For course evaluation purpose, applicant should upload his/her curriculum vitae (CV), qualification certificate and transcript as evidence for the job industry/sector and education background.

Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence that they have attained middle management experience in the financial sector or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may apply for admission to the course by producing evidence of at least 5 years relevant working experience or supporting information to ascertain their competency readiness.  Eligible applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test.

The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist eligible applicants and admit applicants who perform well in the interview and/or entrance test.


Course Outline

The course is a one-year part-time programme consisting of two Post-Diploma Certificates (PDCs) with one PDC conducted in each semester.  Each PDC comprises three modules.  Classes will be conducted in two evenings per week for 15 weeks each semester.

PDC 1: Enhanced Skills for Finance in Analytics & Innovation

Module 1:  Innovation through Design Thinking for Financial Institutions
Module 2:  Applied Financial Analytics 
Module 3: Human-centric Change Management

PDC 2: Applied Technologies in Financial Institutions

Module 1: Integrated Digital Marketing Communications and Platforms 
Module 2: Essentials of Cyber Security in Financial Institutions 
Module 3: AI & Process Automation in Financial Institutions

Award / Certification / Accreditation

Upon completion of the modules in each semester, the participant will be awarded one Post-Diploma Certificates (PDC) respectively.

Upon successfully acquiring the two PDCs within the 2-year validity period, the participant will be conferred a Specialist Diploma in Technology, Innovation & Analytics for Financial Sector Professionals qualification from Singapore Polytechnic.
