SP Design School is pleased to introduce our new Specialist Diploma in User Experience and Digital Product Design. This course provides an opportunity for polytechnic graduates, who are working or intend to work as a User Experience (UX) Designer and User Interface (UI) Designer in digital product (software and applications) development, as part of the journey in being a life-long learner. This part-time evening programme can be completed within a year.
Participants are required to bring computer notebook when attending lessons, as you may need it to access the e-learning materials, writing reports, etc.
This course aims to equip students with the skills and competencies in UX and UI Design. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to conduct user research, identify user requirements, design user interface, create wireframe prototypes and conduct usability testing, leading to the development of successful digital products and services.
This course is tailored for design graduates or practitioners who wish to acquire or deepen their UX and UI knowledge and skills so as to prepare them for a career as a UX or UI Designer with a career progression leading towards a Head of Product Design.
Minimum Entry Requirements
The entry requirement for the Specialist Diploma in User Experience and Digital Product Design is a diploma or higher qualification in UX Design, UI Design and Interaction Design discipline.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may apply for admission to the course by producing evidence of at least 5 years relevant working experience or supporting information to ascertain their competency readiness. Eligible applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test.
The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist eligible applicants and admit applicants who perform well in the interview and/or entrance test.
The course consists of four modules conducted over two semesters within one academic year. Classes will be conducted in two evenings per week for fifteen weeks each semester.
This course consists of two post diploma certificates (PDCs). Each PDC will consist of two modules and the details are as follows:
PDC 1 Certificate in User Experience Design
Module 1 – User Experience Design Studio 1
Module 2 – User Experience Design Studio 2
PDC 2 Certificate in Digital Product Design
Module 1 – User Interface Design Studio 1
Module 2 – User Interface Design Studio 2

Award / Certification / Accreditation
Upon completion of the modules in each semester, the participant will be awarded one Post-Diploma Certificates (PDC) respectively.
Upon successfully acquiring the two PDCs, the participant will be conferred a Specialist Diploma in User Experience and Digital Product Design qualification from Singapore Polytechnic.
