Course Objectives
The trend in learning and development in organisations follows the Charles Jennings’ 70:20:10 learning model.

  • Experience: 70% from on-the-job experiences, tasks, and problem solving or “workplace learning” and “performance support”
  • Exposure: 20% from feedback and from working around good or bad examples of the need or “social learning”
  • Education: 10% from courses and reading or structured courses or “formal learning”
This course aims to ensure that the 70% of experience learning on-the-job is done well for employees. Very often employees have head knowledge of OJT but not the practical experience in doing OJT. Therefore this course will have the following learning outcomes. At the end of the course, participants will be able to:-

c) Apply OJT approach at the workplace

Award / Certification / Accreditation
Participants who attained at least 75% attendance of the course will be awarded the Certificate of Attendance from Singapore Polytechnic.

Profile of Trainer

Mr David Wong is a competent trainer in facilitating learning through activity-based and practical sessions. He is passionate about helping others realise their potential to grow in learning.
As a consultant and trainer, Mr Wong has vast experience in the areas of ESS Communication Management Modules in the Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) programmes; NSRS OJT modules, Curriculum Development course and Training Needs Analysis course. He has worked with corporate clients in designing OJT programmes at the workplace and developed courses in the Service Excellence modules for Certificate and Advanced Certificate levels for the security and hospitality industries.

Mr Wong has attained, Cert-in-Education, Bachelor in Philosophy (Education Technology), Master in Education, Master in Science (Library and Information Studies), Diploma in Training Management (DTM) and Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE).

Withdrawal and Deferment
Withdrawal and deferment notice must be made in writing to the Professional & Adult Continuing Education (PACE) Academy, Singapore Polytechnic via email accordingly:

For withdrawal cases, the portion of course fee to be refunded is based on the date of notice as follows:

  • 2 weeks before the commencement of the course - Full refund
  • Less than 2 weeks before commencement of the course - 70% refund
  • On or after date of commencement - No refund
  • There will be no refund or transfer of course once the account has been created.
The Singapore Polytechnic reserves the right to cancel or postpone any of the courses. Applicants will be duly notified and where applicable, the full fees will be refunded.

The Singapore Polytechnic also reserves the right to amend the fees charged or the period and duration of the courses.

The data provided to Singapore Polytechnic will be kept strictly confidential and will be used for the purpose of course administration. The data may be passed on to the relevant organisations that require the information related to the course.

Please note that an administrative charge of $15 will be imposed for any returned cheques from the bank or financial institution.
