Course Introduction

This is an introductory course on how to use computer network via TCP/IP to control network devices like Programmable Logic Controller which in turn will operate components like relays and switches in commercial or industrial settings.


Course Objective

The course will provide participants with relevant skills required to design a control system over IP (Internet Protocol) by using various technologies including, WLAN, Ethernet, routing, switching, PLC, OPC and SCADA.  With extensive use of practical exercises, participants will learn how to integrate control devices on a computer network to extend controllability and accessibility over LAN and WAN. At the end of the course, participants will develop a network control application project using various technologies.

Minimum Entry Requirements / Assumed Skills and Knowledge

Good working knowledge of computer/internet with work experience in a relevant industry will be an advantage.

• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate
• Certificate of Performance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Performance will be awarded to participants who pass the examination and meet at least 75% attendance rate
