Do you have difficulty navigating in a Windows computer? Are you confused on how to start the web browser and search for things on the internet? Designed for seniors, this course is part of the Silver Infocomm Curriculum – Foundation Skills training to help seniors stay updated using their digital devices and start their digital learning journey.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will gain a better understanding of the different components and parts of a computer and use the computer to execute the basic operations on Windows 10. Participants will also be introduced to the Windows 10 interface, as well as using the web browser.
1. Components and Parts
a. Understanding of computer parts and input devices
b. Understanding of hardware and software
c. Able to use the keyboard to type and use the mouse
2. Introduction to Windows 10
a. Personalise desktop
b. Understand the taskbar
c. Understand and change action center settings
d. Understand control panel
e. Change display size and resolution
f. System protection for hard disk
h. Disk cleanup
As part of Silver Infocomm Curriculum, cybersecurity tips will also be covered at the end of the course.
This course is suitable for seniors aged 50 and above, or anyone who would like to gain basic knowledge and skills in these areas
Minimum Entry Requirements / Assumed Skills and Knowledge
Participant should possess basic English proficiency, basic computer, internet browsing skills, and have an email account.

• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate
