COC CLASS 1 MARINE ENGINEER OFFICER (ORALS)

Course Details
This course will prepare a candidate for CoC Class1 orals exams and develop competence to take on the responsibility of a Chief Engineer of a ship in accordance with STCW 95 Convention.

1.  Class 2 Engineer CoC
2.  Approved sea-going service on ships powered by main propulsion machinery of 3,000kW propulsion power or more.
3.  Eligible to appear for Class1 CoC orals conducted by MPA (For details, please refer MPA website: www.mpa.gov.sg)

2. Electrical, Electronic and Control Engineering at the Management Level
3. Maintenance and Repair at the Management level
4. Controlling the Operation of the Ship and Care for Persons Onboard at the Management Level
5. Monitor and control compliance with legislative requirements


Award / Certification / Accreditation

Certificate of Attendance will be issued ONLY if the course participant has achieved at least 75% attendance.

Funding Incentives

SkillsFuture Credit (SFC)
With effect from January 2016, Singaporeans aged 25 years and above who received their SkillsFuture Credit account activation letter will be eligible for an initial credit of $500 which can be used to pay for course fees for a range of eligible skills-related courses. The credits can be used on top of existing course fee subsidies/funding.

This is only applicable for self-sponsored applicants. Application via SkillsFuture Portal can only be made starting from 60 days before the course commencement date.

Application Procedure

A - Online Registration
[1] Fill up the electronic form. For international student, please ensure your Name, date of birth,
gender and nationality are key in correctly as appear in your travel document to facilitate
visa/student pass application.
[2] Once completed, click on the Submit button
[3] You will receive online acknowledgement that you have successfully submitted the registration
[4] Singapore Polytechnic will then register and enrol upon payment of the fees.

Please note that once the maximum class size is reached, the online registration will be closed.

B – International Student Students should be prepared to stay in Singapore for at least 3 months.

C – Visa / Student Pass Application for International Student Singapore Polytechnic will be applying the student pass for you via Student Pass On-Line Application Registration (SOLAR) system administered by the Immigration Checkpoints Authority (ICA). For candidates from countries which require a visa to enter Singapore (details can be found at the ICA website www.ica.gov.sg, we will also be applying the visa cum student pass for you via the SOLAR system.

Singapore Polytechnic does not sponsor family member. Please refer to ICA website for application procedure.

Please note that your enrolment to the course is conditional upon ICA approving your application for an entry visa AND student pass.

All completion of formalities is strictly by appointment only. Student is to make an e-appointment via ICA website at www.ica.gov.sg before going down to ICA.

D – Insurance Candidates are required to carry an overseas travel and medical insurance during their stay in Singapore.

c) Cheques
Please make cheques payable to “Singapore Polytechnic”. Do cross the cheque and write the Registration Reference ID, Applicant Name and NRIC/FIN number at the back of the cheque. When you have completed required details, you may mail the cheque here.

Please note that an administrative charge of $15 will be imposed for any returned cheques from the bank or financial institution.

All successful applicants will be notified with a letter of confirmation via email.
