Tests are usually conducted on Monday, Tuesdays or Thursdays (excluding Public Holidays) at the following timings;

  • 7pm - 8pm, and 
  • 8pm - 9pm

*Please note that if you encounter 'register for interest' page, it means the maximum class size is reached or online bookings are closed. No refund or transfer of class unless on Medical Grounds or on National Mobilisation.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Must be 16 years of age
  2. Have successfully completed an approved course on the handling of a powered pleasure craft, at any of the PPCDL Centres approved by MPA.
  3. Must have passed the colour vision test and is not physically handicapped.

Remarks
  1. Please be punctual on the test date and at the designated venue.  There will be no additional time allocated for latecomers.  Candidates arriving more than 15 minutes after the scheduled time will not be allowed to take the test.  If you missed the test date, there is no refund or class transfer unless there are valid reasons for medical reason or national mobilization.  Please provide supporting documents.
  2. Please bring the following documents on the test date.  Failure to provide these documents will result in candidates deemed ineligible to take the test:
    a) Identity card with photo (eg. NRIC or Passport)
    b) Original copy of the PPCDL Certificate
    c) Medical Report Form
  3. The test duration is 1 hour and will be conducted electronically.  It consists of a total of 30 questions, each carrying 1 mark.  To pass the test, candidates must achieve a score of 26 out of 30 marks.  Results will be available immediately after completing the test.
  4. Please note that there is strictly no refund once payment is made.  Please ensure you have registered for the right course.

Application Procedure

Applicants may apply for the Examination with the available schedule online.

Online Registration
1) Fill up the electronic form.
2) Once completed, click on the “Submit” button.
3) You will receive online acknowledgement that you have successfully registered and paid for the exam.
4) Confirmed Registration is based on a first-come first-served basis, upon full payment of the exam fees.

Applicants who have successfully registered and paid for the exam will received a “Registration Confirmation” email within 1 day. Please ensure email address is correct.

Applicants will also receive a reminder email 1 week before the exam date.
