Course Objectives
This course aims to introduce digital services and applications related to building of a Smart City. The course focuses on electronic and infocomm technologies relevant to and supporting smart city deployment. Through practical sessions, participants will experience the setting up of a simple smart city system.

The course will be useful to those who wish to experience setting up a simple smart city system with understanding of different digital and Info-communication technologies. Participants will use sensors to read environment data, transmit data to cloud, perform simple data analytics and finally retrieve relevant information from mobile apps.

Profile of Trainer
Dr Lim Joo Ghee is currently a Senior Lecturer with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Singapore Polytechnic. His areas of teaching include enterprise networking fundamentals, programming, wireless communications and sensor networks. With his students and colleagues, he has worked on a number of funded projects related to wireless sensor networks, smart home, smart healthcare and the Internet of Things.
Joo Ghee is a member of IEEE and currently serves in the Exco of the Singapore Advanced Research and Education Network (SingAREN) and Singapore Industrial Automation Association (SIAA) council.
Joo Ghee graduated with a PhD from the UNSW Australia and received his MEng and BEng from the National University of Singapore.
