Mode of Training:
Facilitated Learning (F2F) and Practical Training
This course covers the OPC UA (Unified Architecture), SS IEC 62541, which is a platform-independent standard. OPC UA allows various kinds of systems and devices to communicate by sending Messages between Clients and Servers over various types of networks. It supports robust, secure communication that assures the identity of Clients and Servers, and resist attacks. OPC UA scopes include Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Distributed Control System (DCS) interface, and provide greater interoperability between higher-level functions.
This course provides participants with a good understanding of the SS IEC 62541 standard. The key components of the OPC UA Multi-Part Specification include Core Specification Parts, Access Type Specification Parts, and Utility Specification Parts. Practical sessions are included to allow participants to experience the OPC UA platform-independent standard of communication between Clients and Servers, over various types of networks.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Describe key concepts of OPC UA (SS IEC 62541)
2. Explain the information model of OPC UA
3. Differentiate between OPC UA and other communication protocols
4. Explain the security models of OPC UA
