Course Introduction

Electrical installation is one of the basic core competency in Power sector. Major building services such as Centralized Chiller Air-conditioning System, Lifts, Electrical Switchboard & Metering, Water Fixtures & Metering, and Lighting Luminaires, etc. requires basic knowledge in electrical installation. All electrical installations in Singapore are required to comply with CP5: Code of practice for electrical installations. Some essentials of code of practice will be shared in this course.

Course Objective

This course aims to provide participants with the basic knowledge and practices in electrical installation, which invariably covers electrical power and earthing.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

• Describe the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in Singapore
• Describe the single-phase and three-phase computation
• Describe the electrical safety and characteristics & working principles of the protective devices
• Explain earthing and the protection against electric shock
• Describe the basic concept of CP88 and socket outlet assembly
• Explain the basic concept of lightning protection system

Award / Certification / Accreditation

• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate
• Certificate of Performance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Performance will be awarded to participants who pass the examination and meet at least 75% attendance rate
