Course Introduction
Broadcasters, networks and digital media platforms are constantly on the search for original and compelling content. And it all starts with a good story idea. This course introduces conceptualisation and structure as crucial elements of good storytelling. Participants will learn to create original concepts for a scripted series for TV or the web. They will also learn how to develop their concepts using traditional and interactive narrative structures to create a multi-plot story for an episode of a TV or web series.
Course Objective
This course is targeted at professionals seeking employment opportunities in, or looking to expand their job scope to include content producer job functions in broadcast and media companies. The course will enable participants to be writers and content creators who are able to craft stories scripted series for digital media platforms.
Course Outline
This course will cover the following topics:
• Conceptualise, develop and pitch original ideas and stories for a web series
• Apply the art and craft of storytelling for web series
• Write a concept paper for a scripted series

Minimum Entry Requirements / Assumed Skills and Knowledge
Participants should ideally have basic writing skills with at least a B4/C5 in English for GCE O-Levels
Award / Certification / Accreditation
Certificate of Performance (electronic Certificate) will be issued to participants who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all required assessments
Assessment
All participants are required to complete the written reflection.
