Course Objective

The course aims to provide knowledge to those who may be designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Ship Security Officer (SSO), as defined in section A/2.1.6 (and section A/12) of the ISPS Code and section A-VI/ 5 of the STCW Code as amended, and in particular the duties and responsibilities with respect to a security of a ship, for implementing and maintaining a Ship Security Plan and for liaising with the Company Security Officer (CSO) and the Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO).

Minimum Requirements

Senior Deck and Engineering Officers, serving on board foreign going vessels with min 12 months of sea-going service as a officer.

Certification / Accreditation

• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate

• Certificate of Proficiency STCW Code Table A-VI/5

Suitable for

Deck Officer Class 1, 2, Class 4 &5(Home-Trade Master) with 12 months of approved sea-going service as a Deck Officer
